When it comes to education, The Learning Space is committed overcoming one of the biggest challenges to improving the quality of education:
the lack of professional development programs for teachers who want to integrate technology in innovative ways into their classrooms.
We believe innovative uses of technology are the best and most affordable ways to advance student learning considering that most
schools already have the technology infrastructure in place to reach this universal goal. In most cases, teachers simply lack the
training necessary to take advantage of these existing resources.
To overcome this "lack of training" challenge, The Learning Space is currently developing a new teacher online portfolio system
(Teacher Space) that will significantly enhance our current membership programs. Teacher Space will offer exciting alternatives to teachers who are
ready to revolutionize the way they and their students learn and share information in and beyond the classroom. To be successful,
this major initiative requires the cooperation and financial support of the public and private sectors. It also requires "teacher
leaders" who are prepared to take control of their professional development and ready to inspire others to do the same. Please consider

About The Learning Space TEACHER SPACE
TEACHER SPACE is a future online community that will enable teachers to
develop a unique user profile and interact with others TLS member's via
participation in a seamlessly connected and strategically networked online
community of educators. All new members will complete a new user profile
that is intuitively linked to TLS programs including online tools, training
opportunities, distance learning courses, and other teacher-oriented
information. Members will update their user profiles at various stages
throughout the year. The system will identify these changes and suggest
professional development opportunities based on their current profile.
TEACHER SPACE will:
- Connect our teachers to all relevant TLS programs based on their past
experiences and future needs
- Move teachers along the continuum of change by providing job related
professional growth experiences
- Assist Teachers to incorporate instructional and learning strategies in
the classroom (from the ISTE NETS)
- Be based on the International Society for Technology in Education Teacher
Standards (ISTE NETS).
